We are pleased to announce that The Monks Kettle is open for business. After 3 months of renovations, the Monk's Kettle has opened it's doors, adding to the growing list of craft beer pubs that are joining the craft beer revolution taking hold in cities across Canada, the United States and Europe. The Monk's Kettle is named in homage to the Belgium Trappist monks who arguably were the first craft brewers, and still practice this art with over seven monasteries actively brewing in Europe. The Kettle is a reference to the vessel in which they brewed beer and resembles a cauldron.

Our aim
To provide a friendly and relaxed environment with excellent customer service where patrons can truly enjoy a great food and drink experience which will make The Monks Kettle an exciting and attractive addition to the Kingsway Neighbourhood.

What do we offer?
The Monks Kettle is going to be a local speakeasy that specializes in craft beer, were the uninitiated can get a crash course in craft beer, and the connoisseur can talk shop with other beer aficionados. We will provide a balance of craft beer styles and profiles both on draught and bottle. Our frequent beer rotation plan will regularly introduce new beers and represent as many different beer styles as we can. The Monk's Kettle will also offer a fine selection of wines and liquors, including aged bourbons, scotches,cognacs and a full bar for mixed drinks and cocktails.
Chef Patrick, who comes to us via the renowned Drake Hotel, will lead the kitchens. His philosophy is simple; passionate cooking using only the best seasonal produce available from our local Ontario growers and suppliers. Note, All menu items will be cooked to order on premises, using local and mostly organic ingredients.
